CIPO: Trademark Renewal in Canada

This page will teach you how to renew your trademark for another 10 years. In order to renew your trademark, you will need to have an account in the official website of The Government of Canada. Only a Canada resident can register an account. If you are not a Canada resident you must appoint an authorized Canadian Attorney or Firm, Brealant can assist you with this. Assuming you are a resident of Canada and already have an account, follow the steps below.


1. Sign-in to the Canadian Intellectual Property login page

2. Click Renew a Trademark



3. Click Renewal



4. Enter either the application or registration number and click search



5. You will now see your trademark. Click Renew



6. The full details of your trademark will be shown. You need to enter your email address where the renewal certificate and acknowledgement receipt



7. Click the Save and add to cart button and proceed with payment.


Again, if you're not a resident of Canada, you cannot renew your trademark. Alternatively, you can hire us and we will be your representative so your trademark can be renewed. Our all-in fee for renewing a trademark is CAD 965 (1 class), government fee included
